Relative Strength (RS)

The relative strength indicator is a measure of the strength of a share price compared to a stock index that includes quotes for several stocks. The relative strength indicator is calculated by dividing the share price with the value of a stock index.

The relative strength indicator is used to see how the share price evolves compared to equity indices. If the relative strength index shows an increasing trend, it means that the share price outperforms a stock index.
