Levels of data | Statistics

Data can be classified into different levels. The level of data determines the calculations that can be made to summarize, present and perform statistical tests on the collected data.

There are four levels of data, nominal data, ordinal data, interval data and ratio data. The lowest data level is nominal data and the highest data level is ratio data. Each data level has different characteristics, and the most calculations can be performed on ratio data.
