Cost-push inflation

Cost-push inflation is an increase in the average prices caused by a rise in production factor prices.

Cost-push inflation may occur due to increased wage rates, higher commodity prices, higher taxes and/or higher capital costs. Cost-push inflation leads to both increased price levels and increased unemployment. Cost-push inflation will lead to stagflation.
