Bars in the stock price chart

Share price graphs are usually depicted as bar graphs. In a stock price chart, there are columns for each time unit in the chart.

The bars in the stock price chart contains important information that can be used to identify buy and sell signals in the stock. Bars in a stock price chart contains information on opening price, highest value during the day, the lowest value during the day and the closing price.

A bar in a stock price chart gets its height from the difference between the highest price and the lowest price during the day or another time unit. The opening price is shown as a horizontal line on the left side of the bar and the closing price is displayed as a horizontal line on the right side of the bar.
