Appreciation

Appreciation is a term that is used when a currency is strengthened versus another currency when it is floating exchange rates between the countries.

If the USD is becoming cheaper in Sweden, they say that the Swedish currency has appreciated against the USD. Appreciation is a foreign exchange gain under a system of floating exchange rates.
